Community standards
Hyive is built for useful, respectful, and locally grounded conversations.
These guidelines explain the behaviour and content we encourage, what is not allowed, and how moderation works.
The guidelines apply across Hyive, including profiles, communities, articles, comments, images, reports, and other user-submitted content.
Community owners and moderators may establish additional community-specific expectations, but those expectations cannot override Hyive-wide safety rules.
A contribution does not need to be long to be valuable. It should have a clear purpose and belong in the community where it is published.
People may have different experiences, opinions, identities, cultures, beliefs, or levels of expertise. You may disagree strongly, but you must not use disagreement as permission to harass or dehumanise someone.
Do not attack people for who they are. Content is not allowed when it promotes hatred, dehumanisation, exclusion, serious hostility, or violence based on protected or deeply personal characteristics.
Do not use Hyive to promote serious harm.
Do not turn disagreement into targeted abuse.
Do not publish another person's sensitive or private information without permission.
Do not publish exploitative or unsafe sexual content.
Do not use Hyive as an attention-manipulation system.
Do not deliberately mislead people.
Do not use Hyive to facilitate wrongdoing.
Every Hyive community exists inside a topic and country context. Posts should match the selected topic, selected country context, and the community's stated purpose.
Signed-in, verified users may report posts, comments, profiles, and communities. A report may include a reason, written description, and optional screenshots or supporting images.
Reports are reviewed in context.
When reviewing a case, Hyive may consider severity, context, intent, potential harm, repeated behaviour, evasion, legitimate public-interest value, and whether a less restrictive action is sufficient.
Every useful community is shaped by the people who contribute to it. Write with care. Disagree with substance. Respect context. Report serious concerns. Help worthwhile ideas remain discoverable.
