How Cookies Are Used

Auth.js authentication, session, callback, and CSRF cookies keep signed-in users connected and protect account flows. Exact names and durations may vary by framework and deployment configuration.
hyive_viewer is an HTTP-only cookie used for public-view deduplication and anti-abuse controls. It lasts one year, uses SameSite=Lax, and is secure in production.
hyive_nsfw_confirmed records that a viewer confirmed access to age-gated or sensitive content. It lasts 30 days and uses SameSite=Lax.
hyive_consent stores the current consent-policy version, the time a choice was saved, and non-personal category choices so Hyive can remember whether optional storage is allowed. It lasts up to 180 days, uses SameSite=Lax, and is secure on HTTPS.
When analytics consent is granted and analytics is configured, PostHog Cloud EU may use first-party cookies and localStorage entries with PostHog prefixes such as ph_ or posthog to support privacy-limited product analytics. Withdrawing analytics consent clears those PostHog-prefixed browser entries and stops future browser analytics collection.
Browser Sentry error monitoring follows the analytics consent choice. Hyive does not use Sentry session replay, tracing, profiling, attachments, or advertising tracking.
No application sessionStorage, IndexedDB, Cache Storage, service worker storage, advertising cookies, affiliate tracking, Google CMP storage, Google Tag Manager, AdSense, or advertising storage is used in the current implementation.
Advertising and advertising consent remain inactive in Hyive's privacy settings.

Managing Cookies

You can clear or block cookies in your browser. Blocking essential cookies may prevent sign-in, posting, moderation reports, or protected-page access from working correctly.

You can reopen Privacy / Cookie settings from the footer to review, change, or withdraw the saved choice. Withdrawing the saved choice removes the consent cookie and Hyive will ask again.

Hyive has updated this disclosure for optional PostHog Cloud EU analytics and consent-gated browser Sentry error monitoring. If Hyive introduces advertising, affiliate tracking, Google CMP storage, or other non-essential technologies later, Hyive will update this disclosure and request a renewed consent decision before or when those technologies are used.
