Privacy Policy

Hyive collects the information needed to run community discussions, protect accounts, and moderate abuse.

Information We Collect

Account and authentication data, including email address, username, profile information, password authentication status, OAuth account records, session security metadata, verification challenges, and account status.
User-generated content and community activity, including posts, comments, communities, profile content, uploads, reactions, bookmarks, follows, memberships, blocks, and notifications.
Reports and moderation records, including report reasons, descriptions, target snapshots, private evidence attachments, enforcement records, blocking information, and account-deletion requests.
Security and operational data, including IP-derived rate-limit signals, request metadata, anti-abuse events, service-email delivery status, and server logs.
Optional browser analytics and browser error-monitoring data after analytics consent, limited to allowlisted event names, route families, navigation type, broad result buckets, technical browser delivery data, and sanitized error metadata.
Server-side operational telemetry, including bounded API route templates, status classes, handler duration, provider family, operation family, failure category, and sanitized server error metadata.
Non-personal consent-choice data stored in the browser so Hyive can remember whether optional storage categories are allowed under the current consent-policy version.

How We Use Information

Provide authentication, account recovery, onboarding, posting, search, and community features.
Moderate content, investigate abuse reports, protect users, and enforce Community Guidelines.
Operate security controls including rate limits, bot protection, audit logging, and session invalidation.
Measure product reliability, diagnose errors, monitor availability, and understand broad usage patterns without storing article drafts, raw URLs, search text, uploaded content, private object keys, signed URLs, passwords, authentication tokens, or email addresses as analytics properties.
Send service emails such as verification codes, password reset messages, account notices, deletion codes, welcome messages, moderation updates, and support replies.

Storage, Sharing, And Retention

Public media may be served from a public object-storage bucket or CDN. Moderation evidence is stored in a separate private bucket and is not given a public URL.

Hyive uses service providers only as needed to operate hosting, storage, authentication, email delivery, security, rate limiting, and background processing. Processing may occur internationally depending on provider infrastructure and user location.

Optional PostHog Cloud EU product analytics and consent-gated browser Sentry error monitoring run only after analytics consent. Server-side Sentry error monitoring and Grafana/OpenTelemetry metrics are essential operational monitoring used to diagnose incidents, measure availability, and protect the service.

Provider retention is controlled in the relevant provider dashboards and runbooks. Hyive does not promise a fixed telemetry retention period here unless one is configured and documented for the specific provider account.

Hyive keeps information for as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, for platform security, abuse prevention, moderation review, account operation, legal needs, backups, and reliable service operation. When precise retention periods are not fixed in the product, Hyive uses purpose-based retention.

When an account is deleted, Hyive signs out active sessions, removes personal account data from live systems, deletes user-owned public media managed by Hyive storage, and may retain or tombstone limited records where needed for security, moderation, fraud prevention, legal, operational, or discussion-context reasons.

Service Providers

Render or equivalent hosting infrastructure for running the application.
PostgreSQL for application data.
Cloudflare R2-compatible object storage for public media and private moderation evidence.
AWS SES or the configured transactional email provider for service emails.
Google OAuth when a user chooses Google sign-in.
Upstash Redis when configured for rate limits, duplicate suppression, and abuse prevention.
Inngest when configured for background workflows such as account deletion and transactional events.
PostHog Cloud EU when optional analytics consent is granted for privacy-limited product analytics.
Sentry when configured for sanitized browser and server error monitoring.
Grafana Cloud when configured for OpenTelemetry operational metrics, dashboards, alerts, and synthetic availability checks.

Your Choices

You can request access, correction, deletion, or help with privacy questions by contacting privacy@hyive.com.

You can report content, block users, update account information where product controls allow, and use account deletion when you no longer want a Hyive account.

You can reopen Privacy / Cookie settings from the footer to review, change, or withdraw the saved non-essential storage choice. Withdrawing analytics consent stops future optional browser analytics and browser error-monitoring collection from Hyive's consent-gated browser integrations. Advertising and advertising consent remain inactive.

Children And Teenagers

Hyive is for users aged 13 or older. If local law requires a higher age or parent or guardian consent for online services, that higher requirement applies.

Users should not submit unnecessary sensitive identity documents, passwords, verification codes, or private information through posts, comments, reports, or email.

Policy Changes

Hyive may update this Privacy Policy as the service changes. Material updates will be reflected on this page with a revised effective or last-updated date.
